Volkswagen Virtus Crosses 50,000 Unit Domestic Sales Milestone in India
Earlier this month, Volkswagen launched the highly anticipated Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport, showcasing a striking new black-themed design that embodies sporty aesthetics.
Volkswagen India has achieved a significant milestone with its Virtus sedan, crossing 50,000 units in domestic sales within just 28 months of its launch. The Virtus is a fairly popular choice in the Indian market due to its sleek design, advanced features, and reliable performance.
Sharing his thoughts on the milestone achievement, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said, 'We are immensely grateful to all our customers for making the Volkswagen Virtus India’s No.1 selling premium sedan. The Virtus continues to resonate strongly with our customers, and crossing the 50,000 sales mark is a testament to the product's success in the Indian market, making it India’s most loved premium sedan. Ever since its launch, we have sold nearly 60 Virtus sedans every day, and we are glad that Virtus has carved its own cult following, as it continues to sustain the sales momentum, despite headwinds in its segment.'

Volkswagen Virtus: Powertrain Options
The Volkswagen Virtus is available with two powertrain options. The first is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, with both a six-speed manual gearbox and automatic transmission, producing 113bhp of maximum power and 178Nm of peak torque. The second option is a 1.5-litre TSI Evo engine, specifically powering the GT-badged Performance Line trim, paired with a seven-speed DSC automatic transmission for enhanced performance.

Volkswagen Virtus: Features
As far as features are concerned, the Virtus offers amenities such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless AppConnect through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless mobile charging, My Volkswagen Connect Plus, and eight speakers with immersive sound as standard. Moreover, the sedan comes with over 40 active and passive safety features. For the uninitiated, the model has earned a 5-star GNCAP rating for protecting both adult and child occupants.
Earlier this month, the brand unveiled the highly anticipated Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport. The former variant, powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, is priced from Rs 14.07 lakh. Meanwhile, the latter variant starts at Rs 17.84 lakh and features a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom. Additionally, the automaker has launched the Highline Plus variant for both the Virtus and Taigun models, while also offering an upgraded feature package for the Taigun GT Line.
