After the electric SUV XC40 Recharge, it will be the company's second electric vehicle for India. Bookings for the brand-new C40 Recharge will start as soon as pricing details are revealed by the Swedish carmaker, and deliveries are expected to start in September. The C40 is the XC40 in coupe form, capitalising on the rising appeal of the more svelte SUV look. The C40 Recharge is outfitted with features including collision avoidance and mitigation, lane-keeping assistance, post-impact braking, driver warning, and run-off mitigation. It is one of the first manufacturers to provide ADAS in India.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Battery and Range
The 78kWh lithium-ion battery pack in the Volvo C40 Recharge EV for India is expected to provide a stated 530-kilometre driving range per charge. This electric SUV is equipped with two electric motors that together produce 402bhp of maximum power and 660Nm of peak torque. With the aid of a 150 kW DC fast charger, it is claimed that it can be charged from 0% to 100% in just 33 minutes. The new EV has a peak speed of 180km/h and can accelerate from a complete stop to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds.
Volvo C40 Recharge: Design
The C40 Recharge EV looks nearly identical to its sibling, the XC40 Recharge. The distinction is obvious in a roofline that dips lower in a coupe-like fashion. The C40 Recharge sports LED taillights that are vertically oriented, Volvo's iconic Thor's Hammer LED daytime running lights, and a closed-off panel in place of the regular radiator grille. The new EV is 4,440mm long, 1,910mm wide, and 1,591mm tall in terms of measurements. Moreover, it rides on Aero 19-inch wheels.
Volvo C40 Recharge: Safety and Other Features
The Volvo C40 Recharge EV interior options include vegan leather-free upholstery and recyclable carpets. Additionally, it has a nine-inch Google-powered touchscreen infotainment system. A 12-inch fully digital driver display, dual-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, an air purifier, a wireless charger, cruise control, and more are among the EV's significant interior amenities.
Speaking of safety features, the brand-new C40 Recharge boasts a lane-keeping assist, emergency braking, hill start assist, blind spot information system (BLIS), ABS with EBD, a 360-degree parking view, seven airbags, and more.

Volvo C40 Recharge: Competition Check
In August of this year, the price of the new Volvo C40 Recharge coupe electric SUV will be officially revealed. While reservations are anticipated to commence around the same time, deliveries are most likely to start around September 2023. This upcoming offering from Volvo will cost a little more than the XC40 Recharge, which sells for Rs 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom) at the moment. In terms of rivals, the BMW i4, the Mini Cooper SE, and others will be market competitors of the C40.
