Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV Deliveries Commence in India, Priced at Rs 61.25 Lakh
Volvo India has begun deliveries of the C40 Recharge. The electrified SUV, went on sale earlier this month for an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh, ex-showroom. The initial deliveries were received by owners in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The new Volvo C40 Recharge houses a massive 78kWh battery pack.
The new C40 Recharge electric Coupe SUV was recently launched in India by Volvo Auto at an introductory price of Rs 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). The Swedish manufacturer has now commenced the deliveries of its newest EV to customers, with initial deliveries going to owners in Tamil Nadu and Kerala first. Announcing the same, Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India, remarked, “Deliveries of the first born-electric C40 Recharge is an important milestone in our journey towards becoming an all-electric company by 2030. The C40 Recharge is the second car that is being delivered under our ambitious Online Direct Sales model.” Volvo is only selling the C40 Recharge through online channels, with the car being ordered straight from the manufacturer, in contrast to the brand's standard lineup of cars. The pricing incorporates a 3-year comprehensive warranty, roadside assistance, an 8-year battery warranty, and an 11kW wall box charger. Fjord Blue, Crystal White, Onyx Black, Saga Green, Fusion Red, and Cloud Blue are the six colour options customers can choose from. For a refundable token amount of Rs 1 lakh, interested buyers can directly reserve the electric coupe SUV through the Volvo Car India website.

Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV: Battery Pack, Range and Charging Time
The new Volvo C40 Recharge houses a massive 78kWh battery pack and two electric motors, one on each axle. These two electric motors work together to provide a combined 402bhp of maximum power and 660Nm of peak torque. The Volvo C40 Recharge can accelerate from a halt to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds faster compared to the Volvo XC40 Recharge. This is possible because of the car's robust configuration. Nevertheless, despite its potent setup, the Volvo C40 Recharge's top speed is about 180km/h. According to the manufacturer, the C40 Recharge can use a 150kW DC fast charger to charge its battery from 10% to 80% of its capacity in just 27 minutes. Additionally, the Volvo C40 Recharge's WLTP range stands at 530-kilometre.
Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV: Exterior and Interior Features
With the notable alterations visible from behind the B-pillar, the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge have many comparable design elements, especially up front. The C40 receives a sharply tapered roofline like that of a coupe, a more steeply sloped D pillar, and updated vertical taillamps from the XC40.
Heading on to the cabin, the C40 Recharge comes equipped with a 12.3-inch digital driver's display, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, powered front seats with heating and cooling, dual-zone temperature control, a 9-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, and a panoramic glass roof. Moreover, both the front (31 litre) and the back (413 litre) of the vehicle have plenty of luggage room.
Seven airbags, hill-assist, a 360-degree camera, and a variety of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitor are just a few of the safety features Volvo has included in the EV to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Volvo C40 Recharge Electric SUV: The Competitors
The C40 Recharge is priced significantly beneath other high-end electric SUVs, competing with models such as the Kia EV6, the BMW i4, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
