Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG Launched in India at Rs 16.19 Lakh
The GT DSG version of the Virtus sedan has been launched by Volkswagen India today at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Virtus competes in a fairly limited segment of sedans in our home market, but since its initial formal debut in June last year, it has been able to establish a name for itself.
Volkswagen India has launched a GT DSG version of the Virtus in India at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant belongs to the performance lineup of the sedan. For those unaware, the Virtus has two broad versions: Dynamic and Performance. Interested Customers can pick from 8 variations of the Virtus under the Dynamic (1.0l TSI) and Performance Line (1.5l EVO TSI engine). The new version, under the Performance Line, is driven by a 1.5-litre EVO TSI engine with Active Cylinder Cut-off Technology (ACT) and a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It produces 148bhp at 5000rpm-6000rpm and 250Nm at 1600rpm-3500rpm. Additionally, the new GT DSG version claims ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 19.62km/l. In our market, the all-new Virtus GT DSG will be offered in all seven colours including Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Carbon Steel Grey, Rising Blue, Candy White, Lava Blue, and Reflex Silver.

Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG: Variants and Powertrain Options
One of the most potent options in its market, the Virtus GT with DSG boasts 148bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 250Nm. According to the manufacturer, it also provides 19.62km/l of certified ARAI fuel economy. The Dynamic and Performance Line are the two main variations of the Volkswagen Virtus. The TSI engine from Volkswagen powers the car. The 1.0-litre TSI engine seen in the former Virtus model is mated to either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automated transmission. It has a maximum torque output of 178Nm and a power output of 111bhp. As opposed to the latter, which includes a 1.5-litre TSI EVO engine with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT) and a seven-speed DSG gearbox.

Moving to inside the cabin of the all-new sedan, we can see that it comes equipped with a wide range of technological and entertainment features, including a 10-inch large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless AppConnect through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8 speakers with immersive sound as standard, wireless mobile charging, My Volkswagen Connect Plus, and more.
On the exterior front, GT branding accents on the front grill, fender, and rear add to the sportiness of the Virtus 1.5-litre EVO TSI engine. Along with unique sporty GT features like a glossy black rear spoiler, chrome wings, red ambient lighting, and front brake callipers painted in red. All seven unique colours, including Wild Cherry Red, Curcuma Yellow, Carbon Steel Grey, Rising Blue, Candy White, Lava Blue, and Reflex Silver will be offered for the Virtus GT DSG.
Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG: Safety Features and Warranty
As far as safety is concerned, the sedan gets 40+ active and passive safety features. It has also received a 5-star GNCAP rating for adult and child occupant protection. A 4-year warranty that can be extended to a maximum of 7 years, a 4-year period of roadside assistance (RSA) that can be extended to a maximum of 10 years, and three labor-free services are all included in the 4EVER Care package, available with the Virtus.

Volkswagen Virtus GT DSG: Price and Availability
The price of Performance Line in India begins at Rs 18.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The new variant called the GT DSG has been introduced in our market at Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Interested customers will be able to avail the new variant from the 164 Volkswagen sales touchpoints, established across the country.
