MG Windsor EV Spied Ahead of Upcoming India Launch, Shows Cloud EV-like Touchscreen
The upcoming Windsor EV will rival the Tata Nexon EV, BYD e6, Mahindra XUV400, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX in the segment.
MG's upcoming Windsor EV (electric vehicle) has been spotted while being tested in Mumbai, revealing its interior details. While the official teasers already confirm the presence of a 3-passenger rear seat (with 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests) and a panoramic glass roof, the latest spy shots show a large touchscreen infotainment system similar to the one in the global-spec Wuling Cloud EV. Other noticeable elements include an auto-dimming inside rearview mirror and black seat upholstery.
The dashboard, which is partially visible in the spy shots, will likely feature an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a multifunction steering wheel, and horizontally-positioned AC vents. Other features may include automatic climate control, cruise control, powered seats, connected car tech, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, parking sensors (both front and rear), and an ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) suite.

Measuring 4,300mm in length, the Windsor EV will sit between the Comet EV and the ZS EV in MG’s India EV line-up. Design-wise, it is expected to have a big front fascia with a full-width LED light bar, closed-off grille, wide air dam, and projector headlamps. Elsewhere, the model is likely to get flush door handles, front door-mounted outside rearview mirrors, a wrap-around glasshouse, and an integrated spoiler. The alloy wheels are expected to be 18-inch units with 215/55-section tyres.
MG Windsor EV: Drivetrain
In the global market, there are two battery options on offer – 37.9kWh and 50.6kWh – sending power to a front-axle-mounted electric motor, producing 134bhp. The former has a claimed range of 360km, while the latter offers a range of 460km. It remains to be seen which of these versions will make its way to India.
