Lexus ES Facelift Debuts with Cosmetic Updates at 2024 Guangzhou Auto Show

The Lexus ES facelift has made its debut in China, with minor exterior changes and a bigger infotainment system. Along with the ES, the automaker unveiled the LX700h SUV. There is no official confirmation at this moment, but we expect the sedan to make its debut here soon. For reference, the current ES model starts at Rs 64 lakh (ex-showroom). Lexus claims that it has sold roughly a million ES vehicles in China so far. In India, the sedan was the company's best-selling model in October 2024, accounting for 58% of total sales. Lexus ES Facelift: What’s New?
The updated ES has a redesigned front bumper, a revised grille with a distinctive layout, and updated headlamp clusters with new lighting elements. It also includes a new connected taillamp configuration. Inside, the all-new ES now features a larger 14-inch panel instead of the previous 12.3-inch touchscreen. With two rotary knobs integrated for media and climate controls, this unit represents a major improvement.

Other prominent highlights include new interior trim and upholstery options, 10 airbags, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, an improved voice control system, a reworked gear selector, and electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats.
Lexus ES Facelift: Powertrain
The China-spec ES continues to offer two powertrain options. The standard ES 200 has a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with 168bhp. The ES 300h hybrid, on the other hand, has a 2.5-litre engine paired with a single electric motor that delivers 212bhp. The units are linked to a CVT, which directs power solely to the front wheels.
Other Highlights
Lexus recently announced that it achieved a 43% year-on-year sales growth in our market during the festive month of October 2024. The premium manufacturer had a 14% growth in revenue for the calendar year ending in October of this year compared to the same time in 2023.

The Indian-made Lexus ES was the company's best-selling model, accounting for 58% of overall sales. With a 46% rise in October 2024 over the same month the previous year, Lexus India claimed that the SUV portfolio played a major role in its success.
