The updated Urus Performante, which Lamborghini first unveiled in August this year has made its Indian debut today. The new Performante, a mid-life facelift of the standard Urus, has received several cosmetic and mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the current Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes, the performance-focused SUV now gets a new Rally mode.
Lamborghini has officially launched the Urus Performante in India today, following its debut in international markets in August this year. The new SUV has been priced at ₹4.22 crore (ex-showroom) by the company. Given a number of cosmetic, interior, and mechanical upgrades, the Performante is essentially an updated, track-focused iteration of the Urus.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that powers the Urus Performante is the same unit that powers the standard Urus. The engine now produces a peak power of 657bhp, but the peak torque figure of 850Nm remains unchanged. The car's weight has been reduced by 47kgs, according to the company. The new version of Urus can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds faster than its predecessor. Before reaching its top speed of 306km/h, the Performante accelerates from 0 to 200km/h in about 11.5 seconds.
Even though the SUV's basic shape hasn't been modified, Lamborghini has made minor aesthetic changes to give the Performante a new look. These adjustments feature new front fenders with vents, a new bonnet with cooling vents, and reworked bumpers on both ends. The SUV comes with 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, with optional 23-inch wheels and custom-designed Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tyres. In order to develop a sportier chassis, coil springs have taken the place of the air suspension of the standard Urus. Furthermore, off-road driving modes like Sabbia, Neve, and Terra are absent in the Performante. The new SUV is 25mm longer, 16mm wider, and 20mm lower than the current Urus.
The interior of the car features updated screen graphics, hexagonal stitching on the seats, and an available Dark Package. Buyers who wish to further customise their Urus can do so through the company's Ad Personam service.
The 2022 Lamborghini Urus Performante will directly compete with the likes of the Maserati Levante Trofeo, the Aston Martin DBX 707, and the Audi RS Q8.
