Hyundai Elantra N TCR Edition Globally Debuts with Carbon Rear Wing, 19-inch Forged Wheels

Hyundai has introduced a new edition of its performance sedan, the Elantra N, inspired by the race car that competes in the TCR World Tour championships. Called the Elantra N TCR Edition, the special edition keeps the same mechanicals but adds several striking enhancements to stand out. In South Korea, the model goes by the name 'Avante N TCR Edition' and is slated to launch in December, followed by other markets. There's no news on pricing, but we expect it to cost more than the existing Elantra N, which starts at USD 35,100 (Rs 29.62 lakh). Hyundai Elantra N TCR Edition: What’s New?
The track-focused Elantra TCR Edition distinguishes itself with a lightweight 'Carbon Swan Neck Spoiler' that can be adjusted for optimum downforce settings depending on driving circumstances and requirements. It also comes with lightweight 19-inch N TCR forged alloys and standard N Performance four-piston brakes.

Inside, the Elantra TCR Edition features a stylish Alcantara steering wheel with the Hyundai Performance Blue top marker, in addition to TCR Edition seat belts. The car also gets TCR Edition decals (exclusive in South Korea).
Mechanically, the new edition of the Elantra N continues to use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 282bhp and a peak torque of 391Nm. Power is transferred to the front wheels using an 8-speed DCT. The standard model takes 4.8 seconds to go from 0 to 96km/h.
Joon Park, Vice President of N Brand Management Group said ‘Hyundai Motor has incorporated the experience and expertise accumulated in motorsports into ELANTRA N TCR Edition.’
He also added ‘We will continue to enhance the DNA of Hyundai N so that N-thusiasts can experience the thrill of motorsports in their daily lives.’
The Elantra N is a high-performance variant of the Hyundai Elantra with several enhancements. While there is no official confirmation, Hyundai has no intentions to introduce the regular model or its performance-oriented counterpart in our market.

The company offers three N-line models in India, including the i20 N Line hatchback, Venue N Line sub-4m SUV, and the Creta N Line SUV.
