Priced at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2024 M340i is Rs 2 lakh more expensive than its predecessor. Bookings open.
BMW has launched the 2024 iteration of the M340i performance sedan in India. Priced at Rs 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the 2024 M340i is Rs 2 lakh more expensive than its predecessor. While the price increase of Rs 2 lakh brings little to no mechanical changes, it does offer a few updates inside-out. Bookings for the new sedan – which is locally assembled at BMW's Chennai plant – are underway. Interested buyers can make reservations through either the brand's website or the dealerships across the country.
Under the hood, the 2024 BMW M340i gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with 48V mild-hybrid tech. The setup, which churns out 369bhp at 5,500–6,500rpm and 500Nm of torque at 1,900–5,000rpm, remains unchanged, but the sedan now comes standard with M Adaptive Suspension. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW says the M340i can accelerate from a halt to 100km/h in a claimed time of 4.4 seconds, making it the quickest ICE (internal combustion engine) car in India yet.

Exterior changes include sporty Jet Black 19-inch alloy wheels as well as two new paint finishes – Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red. The other two colour options (Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire) are still available. Slender headlamps (with inverted L-shaped Daytime Running Lights), a blacked-out grille, and aggressive bumper design continue. Inside, the new BMW M340i has the familiar 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, albeit with the latest 8.5 Operating System. The touchscreen supports wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
