Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the all-new GSX-8R middleweight sports bike, which made its global debut at the EICMA 2023. Priced at Rs 9.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Suzuki GSX-8R is offered in three colour options – Metallic Matte Sword Silver, Metallic Triton Blue, and Metallic Matte Black No.2. It will be available at all Suzuki Bike Zone dealerships across the country. A tribute to the GSX-R, the GSX-8R gets a full-fairing design. There is a vertically stacked LED headlamp cluster with mono-focus LED light technology. Its aerodynamically sculpted bodywork is meant to maximise performance by improving airflow. The sports bike uses forged aluminium separate handlebars and lightweight cast aluminium wheels measuring 17 inches at both ends. The wheels come wrapped in Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres.

Also, the headlamp cowl and the windscreen have been redesigned. Both have been through extensive wind-tunnel testing to improve high-speed stability and reduce wind noise and buffeting, according to Suzuki. The cowl-mounted rearview mirrors are sharp and claim better wind protection and enhanced aerodynamics. The bike also features a slim-looking tail section incorporating the compact LED combination light and fender-mounted LED license plate light. Features-wise, the GSX-8R offers a 5.0-inch colour TFT display, ride-by-wire, low RPM assist, bi-directional quickshifter, traction control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), easy start, and ride modes.
'GSX-8R allows riders of all ages to ride with confidence - whether it’s for daily commuting or weekend-long touring. Its advanced Suzuki Intelligent Control System (S.I.R.S) which includes features like Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) and Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) makes riding smoother, easier and enjoyable for everyone. We believe that GSX-8R will connect with our customers and provide them with a truly satisfying riding experience,' said Kenichi Umeda, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd.

The GSX-8R gets a 776cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that develops 81.8bhp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of peak torque at 6,800rpm. Chassis-wise, the Suzuki GSX-8R uses a steel diamond-style unit, suspended by Showa SFF-BP upside-down front forks and a Showa link-type rear monoshock with preload adjustment. The braking setup is a combination of twin 310mm front discs and a single 240mm rear disc.
