Jawa 42 FJ Launched at Rs 1.99 Lakh in India, Gets 29bhp Alpha-2 Engine, Offset Speedometer and More
Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles has launched the 42 FJ in India. The new Jawa 42 FJ gets a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that sees duty in the Jawa 350, but it makes 29bhp and 29.6Nm of peak torque.
Jawa-Yezdi Motorcycles has expanded the Jawa 42 lineup with the launch of a new roadster model – the 42 FJ. Compared to the relatively old Jawa 42, the new Jawa 42 FJ has a sportier design, a bigger 334cc engine, and new colourways. It ranges from Rs 1.99 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The launch comes almost a month after the company introduced the updated version of the Jawa 42, which is already on sale.
While the updates around the older Jawa 42 were largely limited to engine tweaks, the 42 FJ features a slimmer fuel tank (with a brushed aluminium finish and a 'Jawa' decal), a new single-piece seat, and a single-piece handlebar. The fenders and side panels closely resemble the regular 42, while the diamond-cut alloy wheels seem to be borrowed from the 42 Bobber. Other design bits include a split grab rail and upswept twin exhausts. Features-wise, the Jawa 42 FJ gets all-LED illumination, a digital instrument cluster (with Bluetooth connectivity), an offset speedometer, an assist and slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS (standard).
