Jawa 42 Tawang Edition Unveiled in India; Limited to 100 Units
The new Jawa 42 "Tawang Edition" was unveiled by Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles at the Torgya Festival in Tawang. This special edition motorcycle is limited to 100 units and will be available only to buyers from Arunachal Pradesh and the surrounding region.
Jawa Motorcycles debuted a new special edition 42 called the 'Tawang Edition' at the Torgya Festival in Arunanchal Pradesh. The Monpa community of this North-Eastern state celebrates the festival to usher in a prosperous new year. Interestingly, the Jawa 42 Tawang Edition will be produced in a limited quantity of 100 units and will be available only to customers in Arunachal Pradesh and neighbouring regions. The Sports Stripe Allstar Black variant serves as the basis for the new Jawa 42 Tawang Edition. It draws its inspiration from Lungta, a mythical wind horse that represents prosperity in this region. The motorcycle has a Lungta motif on the fuel tank and front fender as well as other inscriptions throughout the body panels that are inspired by the north-eastern region. To identify the motorcycles as special edition models, each is also given a distinctively numbered bronze medallion.

The Jawa 42 Tawang Edition carries the same mechanicals aside from the visual changes. The 294cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 26.84Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm and 27bhp of maximum power at approximately 6,800rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed transmission. Along with bar-end mirrors, a flyscreen, and a headlight grille, the 42 has alloy wheels. The Jawa 42 Tawang Edition is expected to be more expensive than the standard model, which costs Rs 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends, posted a video on Twitter last year to announce the new limited-edition Jawa created especially for the Tawang festival. He tweeted, "I'm excited to share this Special Edition Jawa for the #Tawangfestival, inspired by the mythical Lungta or wind horse. Only 100 of these will ever go into production, especially for the bikers of #Arunachal. Look forward to ride with you soon!" Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, and Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, were also tagged in the tweet. A matte black Jawa 42 with the wind horse design on the fender was seen in the teaser video.
