Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles recently announced the arrival of the Jawa 42 FJ, which starts at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the latest addition to the Jawa 42 range, which also includes the likes of the 42 and 42 Bobber. The 42 FJ is Jawa’s second motorcycle to be based on the revised 350 platform and employs the same modern 350cc motor as the Jawa 350. The bike gets its name from the company's founder, Frantisek Janecek. As far as colour schemes are concerned, buyers can choose from five different options: Aurora Green Matte, Mystique Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black Matte Black, and Deep Black Matte Red. Bookings for the new model are now open. Interested buyers can reserve the bike for a token amount of Rs 942. Jawa 42 FJ: Spoke Wheels Variant
This is the Jawa 42 FJ's most affordable base-spec model. It has spoke wheels and tubed tyres, and only one paint job – Aurora Green Matte – is offered. Coming to the cost, the 42 FJ Spoke Wheels variant carries an ex-showroom price tag of Rs. 1.99 lakh.
Jawa 42 FJ: Alloy Wheels Variant
Jawa sells the 42 FJ with Alloy Wheels variant shod in tubeless tyres. The top-of-the-line model comes decked out in five appealing paint jobs: Cosmo Blue Matte, Mystique Copper, Deep Black/Matte Black Clad, Aurora Green Matte, and Deep Black/Matte Red Clad. The price of the 42 FJ Alloy Wheels starts at Rs 2.10 lakh and goes up to Rs. 2.20 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.
Jawa 42 FJ: Design and Features
The 350 Jawa 42 FJ features a neo-classic styling. The segment-first anodised, brushed aluminium fuel tank cladding is complimented by the aluminium headlight holder and grip handles, as well as the aluminium footpegs. An off-set fuel cap adds a distinctive touch to the tank layout. The contemporary features include an all-LED lighting package, an upswept exhaust, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, an offset speedometer, a slipper-and-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS (standard), and a USB charging outlet.

Jawa 42 FJ: Engine Specs and Hardware Details
As mentioned, the 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which propels the Jawa 350, is also used in the new Jawa 42 FJ. While the new 42 FJ's 334cc Alpha-2 engine puts out 29bhp of maximum power and 29.6Nm of peak torque, the Jawa 350's unit delivers 22.2bhp at 7,000rpm and 28.2Nm of maximum torque at 5,000rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox as standard.
The model is built on a double cradle tubular frame and features telescopic front and rear shock absorbers with five-step preload adjustability. Brembo discs handle the braking duties. The motorcycle boasts a 1,440mm wheelbase and a segment-leading ground clearance of 178mm. The Jawa 42 FJ competes with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Hunter 350, and the Honda CB350RS.
