2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R India Launch on January 1: Here's What We Know So Far
Set to be launched in the country on January 1 next year, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R will get styling updates, a new TFT dash, as well as engine upgrades to the stricter emission norms.
Following the unveiling of the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R at India Bike Week 2023, a social media post has given us the launch date of the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. Set to be launched in the country on January 1 next year, the upcoming middleweight supersport will get styling updates, a new TFT dash, as well as engine upgrades to adhere to the stricter emission norms. Having said that, the ZX-6R went off sale in our market post the implementation of the new BS6 norms. However, the manufacturer is gearing up to bring the supersport back next year, which is now Euro-5 compliant and includes upgrades over its predecessor.
Let's start with its styling. In its latest form, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R comes with twin LED headlamps, an aerodynamic windscreen, split-style seats, clip-on handlebars, a 17-litre fuel tank, sharp mirrors, rear-set footpegs, and graphics on the side fairing panels.

2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Engine
Another update is to the engine. The upcoming Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R draws power from the familiar 636cc, in-line, four-cylinder motor, capable of cranking out 129bhp at 13,000rpm and 69Nm of peak torque at 10,800rpm. However, the engine has received relevant changes to comply with emission norms. Transmission duties are taken care of by a six-speed gearbox, an assist-and-slip clutch, and a quick-shifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Features, Riding Aids
In terms of features, the 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is equipped with LED lighting, a new TFT display with an ECO riding indicator, smartphone connectivity, three levels of traction control, ABS, three power modes, and three riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain or Rider).
2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R: Suspension, Brakes
The latest Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R features an aluminium perimeter frame, suspended by a Showa Separate Function fork—Big Piston (SFF-BP) with 120mm of wheel travel at the front and a gas-charged mono-shock with 150mm of wheel travel at the back, both offering rebound and compression damping as well as spring preload adjustability.
The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has a seat height of 830mm and gets 130mm of ground clearance. It tips the scales at 198 kilograms.

While the price is yet to be announced, expect the upcoming supersport to range between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
