A variety of improvements taken from the company's Moto GP race bike, including engine components machined from titanium, are applied to the most recent V4 R. The R model maintains a twin-pod headlamp assembly, full-fairing, aerodynamic winglets, a muscular fuel tank, a rider-only seat, and a single-sided swingarm while maintaining identical design elements to the normal Panigale V4. Notably, it receives a unique livery from the other Panigale V4 variations. In terms of market competition, the Panigale V4 R rivals the likes of the BMW M 1000 RR. 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R: Mechanical Specs
The company's 998cc, Desmosedici Stradale R engine powers the track-focused vehicle with standard maximum outputs of 215bhp at 15,500rpm and 111.3Nm at 12,000rpm. With the use of special race-spec oil, the figure may be increased to 237bhp by upgrading to the Akrapovich racing exhaust, which increases the output to 233bhp and 118Nm. A 6-speed gearbox with the Ducati Quick Shifter is standard, transferring power to the wheel. With the 6th gear giving a higher limitation of 16,500rpm, the engine can also rev all the way up to 16,000rpm. Additionally, the motorcycle loses five kilograms thanks to the racing exhaust system, weighing (dry) 167 kg as opposed to 172 kg with the regular setup. A bidirectional quick-shifter is useful for the six-speed gearbox.
Titanium connecting rods, revised piston geometry, diamond-like carbon surfaced titanium pistons, and modified intake cams have all been added to the engine to make it more durable at higher rpms and allow it to breathe better at that level.
