2024 Beijing Auto Show: 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro Unveiled, India Launch Likely by Next Year

Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new long-wheelbase Tiguan at the 2024 Beijing Motor Show. The SUV, dubbed the Tiguan L Pro for the local market, is over 200mm longer than the standard model. Following its release in China, it will make its debut in India. The Tiguan L Pro will be available in China in a 5-seat configuration, but the India-spec version will come with seven seats. The newly revealed Tiguan is a three-row model similar to the seven-seat Tiguan Allspace, which was briefly offered in India between 2020 and 2022. In terms of dimensions. the new SUV measures 4,735mm in length, 1,859mm in width, and 1,682mm in height. In comparison to the five-seat version, it is 197mm longer, 17mm wider, and 43mm higher. Moreover, its wheelbase is 111mm longer than its five-seat variant.

The Tiguan L Pro gets an aggressive-looking bumper in a striking black finish, along with flared wheel arches. The rear end of the car features a blacked-out bumper, wraparound lights with an integrated LED light bar, and a well-sculpted tailgate. The increased length of the SUV is most noticeable in profile, where the D-pillar flows into the rear end of the vehicle. Notably, the Tiguan L Pro is built on the same MQB AO platform as the standard model.
2025 Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro: Engine and Transmission
A range of powertrain options is available for the Tiguan L Pro, including diesel, plug-in hybrid, and pure petrol engines. For the Chinese market, however, a 2-litre turbo 4-cylinder mill is offered in two states of tune. The first variant produces 183bhp of maximum power and 320Nm of torque, while the second produces 217bhp of peak power and 350Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a seven-speed DCT gearbox and 4MOTION AWD. Furthermore, both versions have the option of all-wheel drive, with a top speed of 200km/h.

Inside, the SUV has a straightforward dash with three screens: the primary infotainment system, the digital instrument cluster, and one on the passenger side. All three units take advantage of Volkswagen's latest MIB4 digital interface. There are illuminated physical buttons and switches to manage all interior functions. Other features include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, 10-point massage seats with heating and ventilation, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.
2025 Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro: India Launch?
The Taigun L Pro is likely to make its way to India by next year. Most probably, the car will be assembled domestically, alongside the standard Tiguan and the upcoming Kodiaq. In terms of cost, the model may carry a price tag of around Rs 60 lakh, and to keep up the buzz, the sedan may be offered in various customer batches.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan L Pro: Rival Models
The seven-seater SUV, which will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and the soon-to-arrive Ford Endeavour/Everest, will be offered by Volkswagen in India as a CKD unit.
