Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB India Launch on October 9; Here's All You Need to Know
Upon its launch, the upcoming Mercedes-Benz E-Class will compete with the BMW 5-Series LWB, which is priced at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
The sixth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is set to go on sale in India on October 9, 2024. The sedan made its global premiere last year and was unveiled in India earlier this month. After great anticipation, Mercedes-Benz is now ready to reveal its prices for the Indian market. Compared to the outgoing model, the new sedan is 17mm longer at 5,092mm. Additionally, its wheelbase has increased by 15mm to 3,094mm. Although there is still time for the sedan to be introduced in India, industry estimates suggest that its price will probably surpass that of the current Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which is priced between Rs 76.05 lakh and Rs 89.15 lakh, ex-showroom. The sedan's deliveries will commence in mid-October. Let's take a closer look at other features of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Design
The car's front is distinguished by a large grille with a 3D emblem, complemented by high-performance LED headlights. On the sides, you can see new 18-inch wheels and flush door handles. The LED taillights with the three-pointed star design, and a reworked bumper with chrome inlays, complete the new look at the back. The new E-Class comes in five exterior colour options: High Tech Silver, Polar White, Graphite Grey, Nautic Blue, and Obsidian Black.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Interior
One of the most notable features of the new E-class is its all-new dashboard with an 'MBUX Superscreen' setup that includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch screen for the co-driver. The sedan offers a rear-seat kit with electrically reclined backrests and adjustable under-thigh support that can be extended by 40mm for rear-seat passengers. Other highlights include wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, electronically operated sun blinds, and soft pillow headrests.
In terms of features, the car includes a selfie camera, a 17-speaker Burmester 4D sound system, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, powered front seats, a Boss mode, and digital AC vents. It has 8 airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitor, ABS with EBD, parking sensors front and rear, and ADAS for safety.
Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Powertrain
The new E-class will be available with petrol-powered E 200 and diesel-powered E 220d versions, respectively. In the former, the four-cylinder, 1999cc, turbo-petrol M254 engine produces 201bhp and 320Nm, while in the latter, the four-cylinder, 1950cc, turbo-diesel OM654M engine develops 194bhp and 440Nm. Both are coupled to a 48V mild hybrid system, which has an integrated starter generator that contributes 23bhp and 205Nm for 30 seconds. A 9-speed automatic transmission delivers power to the rear wheels.
