Mahindra XUV400 EV Registers over 10,000 Bookings in India
Mahindra & Mahindra has gathered more than 10,000 bookings for its recently launched EV, the XUV400 in India. The model's waiting period, according to the company, will be nearly seven months.
The Mahindra XUV400 has accumulated more than 10,000 bookings in India. Mahindra & Mahindra launched the all-electric SUV a few days ago at an introductory price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the EV commenced on 26th January at 11. am in a phase-wise manner, including 34 cities - Ahmedabad, Surat, Jaipur, Mumbai, Nasik, Verna (Goa), Pune, Nagpur, Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum, Cochin, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Delhi, Kolkata and more. According to the automaker, the orders will take approximately seven months to complete. The Mahindra XUV400 is available in two versions - EL and EC. The starting prices are applicable for the first 5,000 bookings of each version.
Deliveries for the XUV400 EL will commence in March this year, and deliveries for the EC trim will start around Diwali. Based on existing supply chain visibility, Mahindra plans to deliver 20,000 units of the XUV400 within a year of its debut. The leading automaker is also auctioning the limited-edition All-Electric XUV400, a result of a partnership between Mahindra Chief Design Officer Pratap Bose and the fashion designer Rimzim Dadu. The auction began on January 26 at 11 am and will run through January 31 at 11.59 pm. On February 10, the winning bidder will receive the XUV400 electric SUV at the Mahindra EV Fashion Festival in Hyderabad. The company will match the winning bid, and the money will then be divided among the recipients of the "Mahindra Rise Sustainability Champion Awards" or donated to a charity of the winner's choice.

Meanwhile, the XUV400 has also made it into the India Book of Records by establishing a record for the highest distance travelled by an electric vehicle in a single day in sub-zero temperatures. The drive commenced from Kyelang, Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh, and took 24 hours to complete the distance of 751 Kilometre.

On the mechanical front, the EV comes equipped with two battery pack options - 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh, with MIDC-certified ranges of up to 375 kilometre & 456 kilometre, respectively. The electric motor produces 150bhp and 310Nm and enables it to attain a top speed of 150km/h. Additionally, the Mahindra XUV400 EV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 8.3 seconds.
