Bookings for the Mahindra XUV400 are officially underway for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The prices of the XUV400 were announced last week, with the electric SUV starting at Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra & Mahindra has started accepting bookings for the new XUV400 electric SUV. Buyers who wish to purchase the EV can do so at the firm's local dealership or by visiting their official website. Mahindra recently launched the XUV400 in India, with a starting price of Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The e-SUV comes in two models: EC and EL. The base variant EC costs Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line EL costs Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It is important to note that these are the introductory prices, which apply to the first 5,000 bookings only. The car can be booked for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The electric SUV has already arrived in showrooms and is available for test drives. The deliveries for the XUV400 EL variant are scheduled to begin in March 2023, whereas the deliveries for the XUV400 EC variant will commence during this year's Diwali festive season. The XUV400 EV is covered by a three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty for the vehicle and an additional eight-year/1,60,000-kilometre warranty (whichever is earlier) for the battery and motor.
When it comes to the powertrain, the brand-new Mahindra XUV400 has two battery pack options: 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh, with MIDC-certified ranges of up to 375 kilometres and 456 kilometres, respectively. The electric motor produces 150bhp of maximum power and 310Nm of peak torque and has a top speed of 150km/h. In addition, the XUV400 EV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.3 seconds. The electric SUV has three charging options: a 3.3kW charger that can charge the battery in 13 hours, a 7.2kW wall charger that can do so in six and a half hours, and a 50kW DC fast charger that can go from 0 to 80 per cent charged in just 50 minutes. Besides the single-pedal Lively mode, there are three driving modes – Fun, Fast, and Fearless. Moreover, a 16A house plug can be used with the vehicle.

The SUV is available in five colour options – Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue, with a dual-tone option including Satin Copper. Dimensionally, the Mahindra XUV400 is 4200mm long and has a wheelbase of 2600mm. It comes with a cargo space of 378 litres/418 litres (up to the roof). With the exception of some copper highlights on the XUV400 EV that serve to distinguish between the electric and ICE variants, the XUV400 EV is based on the XUV300, and their designs are nearly identical. Although the two SUVs have similar underpinnings, the electric SUV is 205mm longer.
The XUV400 EV's interior is almost similar to the XUV300's as well. It has a nearly identical dashboard design, with some additional copper accents this time around the centre console, AC vents, and the new Twin Peak logo on the steering wheel. The list of features includes a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, an infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen, connected car technology, and an EV-specific MID. Six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), cornering brake control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and a rearview camera are all standard safety features in Mahindra's electric SUV.
