Mahindra Thar Roxx Serial No 1 Fetches Rs 1.31 Crore in Auction
The first Mahindra Thar Roxx was auctioned for Rs 1.31 crore to Aakash Minda, who had previously won the auction for the first Thar 3-door.
Mahindra & Mahindra delivered the first Thar ROXX SUV to Aakash Minda after an online auction. Minda, Executive Director of Minda Corporation Limited, won the bid with ₹1.31 crore. Nearly 11,000 people registered for the auction. Minda chose the Nebula Blue model, featuring a VIN 001 plate signed by Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra. All proceeds from the auction will go to the Naandi Foundation, with Mahindra matching the donation to double the contribution.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Design
The Thar keeps its classic boxy shape but now has modern upgrades. It features LED headlights with C-shaped DRLs, a colour-matched 6-slat grille, rugged bumpers, rear-door handles, 19-inch dual-tone alloys, a tailgate-mounted spare, circular fog lights, and rectangular LED tail lights. The SUV comes in seven colours: Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna, all with a black roof.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Feature
Inside the Thar, the cabin is equipped with modern features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also offers a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated leatherette seats, a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, and rear AC vents for added comfort.
For Safety, this SUV comes equipped with electronic stability control, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and hill ascent and descent control. The ADAS system further enhances safety with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain Options
The Thar is available in six variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L. It offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The petrol variants come with rear-wheel drive, while the diesel models feature a 4x4 system with a low-range transfer case for off-roading.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Rivals
The Thar ROXX competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and the Force Gurkha 5-door in the off-road SUV market. It also offers a strong alternative to popular compact SUVs like the MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos.
