Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain
The Mahindra Thar Roxx gets two engine options – 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel, both in two states of tune. Both engines are available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The petrol-MT variants make 160bhp and 330Nm, while the Roxx petrol-AT produces 175bhp and 380Nm. On the other hand, the diesel-powered model develops 152bhp/330Nm for the 4x2 variants and 173bhp/370Nm for the 4x4 variants.
As for variant-wise powertrain options, the standard MX1 comes with rear-wheel-drive (RWD) manual options with both engines. The MX3 offers a 160bhp petrol-AT, a 152bhp diesel-MT, and a 173bhp diesel-AT. Moving further up the ladder, the MX5 is the entry point to the Roxx 4x4 family. It gets 5 options under the hood: 160bhp petrol-MT, 160bhp petrol-AT, 150bhp diesel-MT, 150bhp diesel-AT, and 173bhp diesel-MT 4x4. The AX3 L and the AX5 L employ 150bhp diesel-MT and 150bhp diesel-AT/173bhp diesel-AT 4x4, respectively. Finally, the top-spec AX7L can be had with all diesel configurations, but its petrol engine is only mated to an automatic gearbox. Now, take a proper look at the variant-wise pricing:
