This overwhelming response highlights the strong demand for the off-road SUV, which has captivated adventure enthusiasts with its rugged design and enhanced capabilities. Prospective customers can reserve the model for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The ex-showroom price of the new Thar starts at Rs 12.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 22.49 lakh. Customers can book the Thar Roxx through Mahindra's dealerships across the country. With its competitive pricing and advanced off-road features, the Thar Roxx is poised to attract attention in the growing market for adventure-ready vehicles, strengthening the homegrown carmaker’s foothold in the off-road segment.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain Options
The new Thar is available in six variants: MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L. In terms of mechanicals, the off-roader offers two engine options - a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol unit and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit. The transmission options include a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque converter automatic. The petrol variants are offered exclusively with rear-wheel drive, while the diesel version provides the option of a 4x4 drivetrain featuring a low-range transfer case.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Feature List
The interior is equipped with several features, including a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated seats with leatherette upholstery, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, and rear AC vents.
Safety-wise, the 5-door model offers electronic stability control (ESC), six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and hill ascent and descent control. The ADAS suite comprises functions such as autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Styling Cues
The updated Thar retains its signature boxy design while incorporating several distinct features, including LED headlights with C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a body-coloured 6-slat grille. It also has sturdy bumpers, handles mounted on the rear door, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, a spare tyre on the tailgate, circular fog lights, and rectangular LED taillights. There are a total of seven paint jobs to choose from: Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Stealth Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Battleship Grey, and Burnt Sienna, all paired with a black roof.
In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4,428mm in length, 1,870mm in width, and 1,928mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,850mm.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Competition Check
The Thar Roxx competes directly with the Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door and the Force Gurkha 5-door. It also stands as an alternative to models like the MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos.
