Mahindra is expected to unveil the new-gen Scorpio anytime soon, however, the SUV maker is not pulling the plug on its old models such as the Bolero and the Scorpio which will retail alongside.
Despite the introduction of the Bolero Neo, Mahindra is continuing the sale of the old-gen Bolero alongside. Now, the manufacturer has decided to update the outgoing Bolero with a dual front airbag setup and make it a standard offering. The new Bolero equipped with dual-front airbags has been launched for Rs 8.85 lakh (ex-showroom) and go all the way up to Rs 9.86 lakh (ex-showroom). These prices are higher by Rs 16,000 when compared to the pre-updated model.
The SUV continues to be the same as before mechanically, as well as, in terms of features. A 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor powers Bolero which is tuned to deliver 75bhp and 210Nm. The Bolero is a very basic and bare-bones offering, and if you’re looking for a small crossover SUV with more upmarket features and an automatic gearbox; you can consider the Bolero Neo or the sub-four-metre crossovers in the market.
That said, the Bolero has been targeted towards Mahindra’s tier-2 and tier-3 markets where the brand also retails the Scorpio. Just how Mahindra is retailing the Bolero and the Bolero Neo alongside, the upcoming Scorpio and the outgoing Scorpio are likely to be sold side-by-side. Expect an official reveal of the new Mahindra Scorpio in the coming months.
