BMW M2 Launched in India at Rs 98 Lakh, Also Gets a 6-Speed Manual Transmission Variant
BMW has launched the new M2 at a starting price of Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The new-gen model is available in five exterior paint options, including Alpine White, Brooklyn Grey, Black Sapphire, Toronto Red, and Zandvoort Blue.
BMW has finally launched the new M2 in the country at an introductory price of Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom). The two-door four-seater sports car has a 3.0-litre in-line, six-cylinder, petrol engine that puts out a maximum power of 454bhp and a peak torque of 550Nm. According to BMW, it can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds (with the automatic transmission) and has a top speed of 250km/h. For transmission, it gets an eight-speed automatic gearbox as a standard. It also comes with a six-speed manual transmission. For the exterior, the carmaker offers the M2 with five paint options, including Alpine White, Brooklyn Grey, Black Sapphire, Toronto Red, and Zandvoort Blue. BMW M2: Exterior & Interior
The sports coupe sports M-exclusive elements like the M Frameless kidney grille with rectangular air intakes redesigned adaptive headlights, flared side skirts, and arches. It also has an optional carbon roof. The second-generation M2 rolls on 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloys as standard. However, the carmaker has offered the option of Jet Black alloys. Talking of the inside, the recently introduced BMW model gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch infotainment display. The cabin includes the standard M Sport Seats with an electrical adjustment functionality. These seats are wrapped in Vernasca leather with perforated surfaces and can be available in black or Cognac.
BMW M2: Engine & Gearbox
For propulsion, the new M2 uses a 3.0-litre inline-six turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 453bhp and 550Nm of torque. This comes equipped with an eight-speed automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual gearbox. Speaking of acceleration, the new M2 can go from 0 to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds with the automatic. The manual version, on the other hand, takes 4.3 seconds. According to BMW, the top speed is limited to 250km/h. However, with the M Driver's Package, it can be augmented to 285km/h.
BMW has launched a manual variant in India for the first time. It has a Gear Shift Assistant for slip-free operation. The manual gearbox option is more expensive than the automatic, presumably asking Rs 1 lakh more than the model's ex-showroom price structure.

BMW M2: Safety & Customized Options
For safety, the next-gen BMW M2 comes with Automatic Stability Control, Dynamic Stability Control, Cornering Brake Control, Dry Braking Function, and Active M Differential, Anti-lock Braking System, and more. BMW offers purchasers a plethora of options to customise the new M2 according to their specifications. It includes a carbon fibre roof, manual transmission, carbon fibre bucket seats, and more.
