Kia Syros SUV: Teaser Details
Kia recently revealed that its new compact SUV will be named the 'Syros'. The announcement was made through a brief teaser on the South Korean automaker's social media handles. This follows the release of yet another teaser for the Syros.
The new 15-second teaser, called "Evolved by the Future," starts with a young girl wishing on a shooting star, which then morphs into a striking image of the Syros. Compared to the Sonet, the SUV will feature a more spacious design. The teaser showcases a bold front with a vertical triple-beam LED headlamp, paired with sleek vertical LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), drawing inspiration from models like the EV9 and Soul.
Kia Syros SUV: Design Elements
The forthcoming Kia SUV will likely share design cues with the Kia EV9, which was introduced as a CBU in India last month. The Syros may sport a newly designed Tiger Nose grille, giving it a more modern and updated appearance. As seen in earlier teasers, the car carries a bold, boxy design language.
Despite its compact proportions, the Syros presents a robust stance, with tall pillars, a flat roofline, and square, flared wheel arches. Its aggressive look is further enhanced by sharp cuts, creases, and a clamshell-style bonnet. The rear profile adorns unique L-shaped LED taillights built into the D-pillars, along with a flat tailgate and reflectors on the rear bumper. Moreover, the dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels complete its sporty look.
Kia Syros SUV: Engine and Transmission
In terms of mechanicals, the Kia offering is anticipated to use the 1.0-litre Smartstream G T-GDI petrol mill, producing 118bhp and 172Nm, and the 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel mill, developing 114bhp and 250Nm from the Kia Sonet. It will likely offer multiple transmission options, such as a six-speed manual, six-speed iMT, six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch (DCT).
Kia Syros SUV: Features
As far as features are concerned, expect the Syros to come equipped with a variety of amenities such as a digital driver's display, a touchscreen infotainment unit, six airbags, an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), automatic climate control, ventillated seats, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a wireless charger, and a 360-degree camera.
